When I started my first Whole30 back in 2013, there were exactly zero premade Whole30 sauces – now there are many choices — but they tend to be a bit on the spendier side, so I am here to help you make sound decisions with your sauce investments. I use sauces everyday and they can elevate meals from meh to marvelous.

FAVORITE KETCHUP – My current favorite is The New Primal Ketchup. It’s a bit tangier than the others which is part of the reason I like it. I use it on burgers and air fryer potatoes mostly but it can also be added to stir fry-type dishes for some extra tang.

FAVORITE TRADITIONAL BBQ – It’s a TIE! The new Smoky BBQ Sauce from The New Primal is currently on repeat but I still love the Sweet & Spicy BBQ by Tessemae’s.

FAVORITE NON-TRADITIONAL BBQ – This one was surprising to me, as I avoided trying it for awhile and that’s The New Primal Mustard BBQ. If you’re not from the southeast, you’re probably not familiar with this Carolina-style BBQ — I know wasn’t! I was gifted a bottle at the 2019 Whole30 Coaches Summit and I have been hooked ever since. It’s more vinegar-y than traditional BBQ.

FAVORITE PESTO – I love pesto on eggs, chicken, shrimp — it’s so versatile! My favorite is Seggiano Fresh Basil Pesto Genovese. The only local place that I have found that carries it is my Whole Foods Market. I will say that it is fairly expensive ($10+ for small jar). You can buy it on Amazon.

FAVORITE MARINADEThe Classic Marinade by The New Primal is by far what gets used most in my house. It’s so versatile and more sauce can be added after the meat is cooked. My chicken always turns out juicy!

FAVORITE BUFFALO SAUCEMild or Medium Buffalo by The New Primal depending on how much spice I can handle in one day.

FAVORITE RANCHTessemae’s Avocado Ranch simply the best! Best consistency

FAVORITE COCONUT AMINOSBig Tree Farms Coconut Aminos

FAVORITE TEX-MEX SAUCESiete Foods Red or Green Enchilada sauces — these are brand new and so GOOD!

FAVORITE BONUS SAUCERicante Tropical Pineapple Habanero. I’m a sucker for anything Pineapple! Great on chicken + pork.
